We found that teens who love to draw dislike their drawing classes, since they focus on copying rather than fundamentals like composition, visual thinking and creative expression, leaving teens demotivated about their artistic abilities and unsure how to express their ideas.
We spoke to 16 teens who love to draw as a hobby, and researched over 70+ comments and upvotes in Indian Reddit art discussions. 15 out of 16 feel underconfident in their drawing abilities. 14 out of 16 don't like the rigid teaching methods of drawing classes. 12 out of 16 wanted to be guided, not told what to draw and left without any direction.
The name Tratto means a line in Italian, referring to the most fundamental element of drawing, which also inspires the fundamental shapes that make the logo.
